A founder's story: A conversation with Marie Johnson and Manny Villafana

Marie Johnson's path to entrepreneurship was set by the death of her husband from a sudden heart attack from coronary artery disease at the age of 41.  Johnson, a doctorate student and mother of two young children, turned her grief into a mission to find out why a seemingly healthy man in the prime of his life would be strken by a prevenatable death. Thirteen years later, Johnson's Aum Cardiovascular's CADence device, which uses sensors and algorithms to identify blockages in arteries is on the market in Germany and soon the U.S. In an intimate interview we'll learn all about Johnson's journey.

And as a bonus interview, medtech legend Manny Villafana, founder of St. Jude Medical, Guidant, AMS and more will talk to us about what happened at Kips Bay Medical, which recently closed its doors after running out of cash. Vilafana will speak frankly about the company and why it failed to succeed where so many others did.
